Crime Fighting at It's Best!

The fourth installment of the popular lawyer game Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is the beginning of a new court era for the next generation. Taking place seven years later Phoenix Wright steps down from the courtroom scene due to the most unlikely circumstances and we now get to follow the action with Apollo Justice, a red-loving and hotblooded new attorney. Still having the usuals of investigating and battling against a whole new prosecutor, we see Apollo and the new assistant Trucy finding themselves in a bigger mystery than they would have ever expected. With a new defense attorney also comes a whole new cast of characters. Replacing our good ol' Edgeworth and Gumshoe comes a whole new prosecutor and detective duo.

Klavier Gavin (Kyouya Garyuu) Carefree Rock n' Roll Prosecutor
Prosecutor by day and rock star by night. Leading a double life, you just can't deny how "cool" he is despite his over-sized ego. Klavier Gavin isn't your average prosecutor though. Despite being a prodigy and beginning his career at the age of seventeen, Klavier is one of the few prosecutors who actually want to find out the truth rather than win a case for the sake of a winning streak. He may appear laid back and carefree at times, but he's actually hard working and does multiple cases at a time while trying to swoon over the ladies with his top-of-the-charts band.

Ema Skye (Akane Houdzuki) Moody and Forensic-Obsessed Detective
Back from Europe after nine years, Ema Skye seems like your typical moody detective who just got stuck at the most dead end job. After not being able to pass the proficiency test to enter the forensics department, she seems to have drowned herself in snackoos and hating anybody who even attempts to grab her attention. Even though she's a bit touchy, Ema's passion for science hasn't died down once bit since the SL-9 incident. Still being true to her nature, Ema can sometimes be seen sneaking in some of her mail-ordered forensic equipment when the other forensic scientists aren't looking.

Strictly Professional

When comparing them to the dynamics of a certain prosecutor and his loyal detective, Ema Skye and Klavier Gavin just don't mix. Growing up with a very professional and serious older sister who just happened to be a previous chief prosecutor and adoring the Miles Edgeworth during her teenage years, it's easy to see why she hates working with Klavier Gavin. With Ema not fawning over him like the average woman, Klavier also enjoys his time teasing her when she's around--though he's never one to push it too far and avoids her completely when she's about to go on a snackooing rampage.

We don't really get to see much interactions between them two in Turnabout Corner of Ace Attorney 4 other than a bit of trash talking on Ema's part (specifically her use of the term "Glimmerous Fop") and Klavier noting that Ema doesn't seem very fond of him. More of their dynamics can be seen at Turnabout Serenade when a young pianist had just been accused of murder.

Due to Klavier having a few mishaps before his concert, he ends up calling our favorite moody detective to be on security duty for the concert. Ema of course isn't too pleased about Klavier abusing his powers of authority and complains about him to Apollo. During courtroom though, the two seem much more professional when interacting aside from Klavier's typical flirting. Despite them having to be a team, Ema isn't particularly amused when Klavier keeps her in the dark about certain situations--specifically the time when he just "happened" to not inform her about Lamiroir's secret before testifying on the witness stand and looking like a completely incompetent detective for not knowing.

Though it's not only Klavier who goes too far with his jokes. He even shows annoyance to Ema when her insults actually hit him where it hurts only to dismiss it when they both remember that they're in a courtroom trying to solve a case together. Though they may not have the best working relationship they still have a few more sequels to go before their relationship can be on more steady grounds.
